PUMPKINS & HALLOWEEN!

27.10.20

Spooky story telling!

We love Halloween at Happy Days! Our children had so much fun telling spooky stories to each other and dressing up.

We get lots of pumpkins to excite and interest the children – great for sensory play and also for developing those gross and fine muscles and hand/eye co-ordination as they hammer golf tees into them!

Autumn Term back in full swing

Well the children have adapted to our ‘new normal’ better than we could have imagined. Our Red and Blue bubbles seem to be working very successfully giving more quality key worker and key child time together.

We have been following the children’s interest and we find ourselves developing our ‘builders’ play time. We have been giving the children opportunities to hammer and bang wood, we have even made our own cement. It has been lovely to see their play developing. We have also been building roads in our small work area inside.

We have also celebrated Teddy’s 3rd birthday! This came directly from the children’s interest in all things birthday. We observed child-initiated play and enhanced it by creating an environment based on a birthday theme. Lots of learning opportunities as the children wrapped presents, wrote cards and baked cakes! On party day, we had some party games and played with balloons. Such fun.
